A7 IV offers a significant improvement on AF and Eye Tracking (for both humans and animals), better skin tone rendition, better Video capabilities, flip screen, and better ergonomics. LCD and EVF got a slight bump-up in resolution but are still low-res compared to A7R offerings. New 360 flip screen is harder to tilt up and down for quick raise-camera-up and lower-camera-down shots, with A7 III, it's a mere flip up or down, now with A7 IV, have to first flip the screen to the left, then rotate up or down, and have to view the screen off-axis to the lens for composition, harder for precision positioning of the camera for product photography. Battery life tanked quite a lot with A7 IV, at least for still photography. Buy this over A7 III if you need critical AF performance and also if you are doing some 4K video workflow using your mirrorless cameras. Otherwise, save the extra money over A7 III for better lenses. Or if you need higher megapixel count, go for A7R line of cameras. If you need better video performance, go for (bit overpriced maybe) A7S III. Cheers
